Terms of Service – SMS Appointment & Recall Communications

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your participation in SMS (text message) communications from 1st Family Dental (“we,” “our,” or “us”) related to appointment confirmations, reminders, recall notices, and other important updates regarding your dental care.
By providing your mobile phone number and opting in to receive text messages, you agree to these Terms.
Program Description
Patients who opt in may receive text messages including, but not limited to:
- Appointment confirmations
- Appointment reminders
- Recall reminders (routine cleaning and exam notices)
- Missed appointment follow-ups
- Scheduling updates
- Limited administrative notifications related to your care
Text messages may be sent from a phone number that is different from your local office’s main phone line. These messages are sent through a secure third-party messaging platform on behalf of 1st Family Dental.
Message Frequency
Message frequency will vary depending on your appointment schedule and treatment needs. You may receive multiple reminders prior to an upcoming visit.
Message & Data Rates
Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your wireless carrier and mobile plan. 1st Family Dental is not responsible for any charges incurred from your carrier.
Opting In
You may opt in to receive SMS messages by:
- Providing your mobile number during registration
- Signing consent forms in-office
- Requesting appointment reminders via text
- Confirming participation verbally or electronically
By opting in, you confirm that you are the authorized user of the mobile number provided.
Opting Out
You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any text message
- Contacting your local 1st Family Dental office directly
- Updating your communication preferences in-office
After you send STOP, you will receive a confirmation message, and you will no longer receive SMS messages from that program.
For assistance, reply HELP or contact your local office directly.
Privacy & Security
Your privacy is important to us. Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent information will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Text messages may contain limited protected health information (PHI), such as appointment date and time. While we use secure platforms, SMS is not always a fully encrypted method of communication. By opting in, you acknowledge and accept this risk.

Supported Carriers
Our SMS services are supported by most major U.S. wireless carriers. Delivery is subject to effective transmission by your carrier and is not guaranteed.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
