“If you want to master something, teach it” Being teacher and researcher has made me a better clinician who is driven by patient satisfaction and equipped with the highest standards of care. Listening to my patients, educating my patients, and giving them the ultimate care is what defines me with a great pleasure and honor, I am now part of the 1st family dental, the place with a level of care that you deserve, here’s a little about me:
I am a board-certified orthodontic specialist and Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, obtained my master degree in oral sciences with a specialty certificate in orthodontics from the University of Illinois Chicago. I joined UIC right after my graduation as Clinical Assistant Professor to pursue my passion in academia, the right place to explore the evidence-based treatment and to stay on the cutting edge of all the emerging technologies in the profession of orthodontics.
I currently hold a Full-Time Associate Professor position at UIC’s prestigious orthodontic specialty program. In November 2021, I landed my new role at UIC as Associate Director of Post Graduate Orthodontics.
Teaching & supervising my residents in the post-graduate orthodontic clinic and being the course director of the “ABO board Preparation” course where I prepare my residents to be a successful board certified orthodontists has taught me to keep my standards of care very high.
I have a great experience using a wide variety of orthodontics philosophies and treatment modalities including early treatment, Invisalign, Self-ligating Systems, clear braces and the conventional Twin Brackets. I worked in multiple research areas including CBCT, bone biology, and micro CT. I have published three articles in peer-reviewed journals and I am a recipient of the RAA and OFDFA awards from the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation AAOF.
I am an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Illinois Society of Orthodontists, Society of Educators, and Midwestern Society of Orthodontists.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading and tennis. I love spending time with my husband and our two daughters. I appreciate friendship very much and my friends are big part of me, and my family’s life. I admire food and I enjoy every single taste and cuisine so cooking is my therapy. Exploring all the different types of restaurants in the great city of Chicago with family and friends is the best part!
